For the last five years, we’ve been running the Kōrero series. Vaughan Rapatahana has interviewed leading Aotearoa New Zealand artists, primarily kaituhi. The overriding kaupapa regarding these kōrero was to highlight artists who represent Aotearoa’s diverse qualities: Māori, Pasifika, Asian. In this, the series has emphasised the multicultural make-up of the Aotearoa New Zealand demographic. Accordingly, different cultural Weltanschauung and therefore diverse languages have been brought to light. This is Aotearoa – geographically, artistically, culturally dynamic.

Recently, Vaughan noted:

I am proud of what we all accomplished in these interviews and articulate expressions, and I am certain that this feature will continue to explore the widening array of different cultural, and thus diverse existential, viewpoints throughout this country.

We thank Vaughan for his dedication to Flash Frontier and in particular this series.
